Why Finding an Agent is the 1st Step in Buying a Home
We believe finding an agent is the first thing homebuyers should do.
So, you want to buy a house and want to know where you should begin. You’re in luck, because today we’ll be talking about the first and most important step you can take in the home-buying process: finding an agent.
Conventional wisdom says the first thing you should do is get a pre-approval, but we believe finding the perfect agent is a far better way to kick off the journey. Finding a good Realtor means interviewing multiple agents in your area—as many as you can, if possible. Every agent has their own approach toward real estate processes, so it’s important to learn everything you can. You also want your agent to be a good fit, whether that’s personality-wise, availability-wise, or otherwise.
“Make sure you ask potential agents about how they can help you accomplish your goals, given what you have to work with.”
When interviewing agents, a good question to ask is: What are the resources you have? For example, let’s say you have electrical issues after you move into your home—will your agent have a list of trustworthy vendors they can refer?
Further, there are tons of different financing options out there, and you want to be sure your agent is well-versed in the type of financing program you’ll be using. Make sure you ask potential agents about how they can help you accomplish your goals, given what you have to work with.
